I hope you will follow me as I travel across Canada as far as the Vallee de la Batiscan to the Slow Food Canada Meeting from Friday April 1st to Tuesday April 19th. For more than ten years I have been volunteering for Slow Food and this year I decided that I want to take the time to learn about all the interesting projects that are going on in Canada. It has been a lifelong dream to travel across the country by train, so I am thrilled to have the opportunity to travel from Vancouver to Edmonton with VIA rail and then again from Toronto to Montreal where I will be joined by several Slow Food members and convivium leaders and Slow Food International General Secretary Paolo di Croce. If you want to join us we’ll be on the 11:45 AM VIA rail train from Union Station on April 13th, arriving on time for a Slow Food dinner at DNA restaurant .
Along the way, I’ll be holding events with Slow Food Convivia across Canada. I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can along the way! I’ll be traveling with Frederique Philip, co owner of Sooke Harbour House (and the wife of our SF International Councillor Sinclair Philip). For those of you who haven’t met Frederique, she is one of the most creative people I know, and the Queen of thrift store chic! She’ll be helping out, posting here in French, and helping with bilingual tweets on twitter ( slowfoodcanada )
