The Superior is kindly hosting our event & Chef Cory Pelan will be in the kitchen celebrating our local winter bounty!

Artisan Charcuterie & Salumi made with local heritage meat, featuring a specially designed family style menu-celebrating the philosophy of nose to tail cooking.

What: Celebrate Terra Madre Day with a community pot-luck and learn about our Slow Food delegates’ experiences/impressions from the 2012 Terra Madre Gathering this past October
Who: All Slow Food members and their friends (I’ll have SF membership forms on hand!)
Cost: Not a thing (although we’d be happy to take donations towards sponsoring another Community Garden for Africa!)

Chef Derek Bothwell will provide teaser complimentary canapés using produce from The Earthwise Society, featuring Gelderman Pork, and breads using Cedar Isle Farm Flour will be dipped into Domenica Fiore’s Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Come meet our Terra Madre 2012 delegation, hear of their experiences and and learn more about Slow Food. Order off their seasonal menu, and taste their BC wines and beers.

All SFNS Member and guests are invited to join former Terra Madre Delegates at this sharing event!
All Nova Scotia delegates (past and present) to any of Slow Food’s Terra Madre gatherings in Turin Italy since 2004 are invited to the new WOODEN MONKEY in Dartmouth to share their experiences with each other and SFNS members and guests who have never been. Photographs, films, stories, dialogue and laughter will be shared along with some light fare provided by The New Wooden Monkey #2 at their new waterfront location in downtown Dartmouth NS.

This year, Slow Food Toronto is celebrating Terra Madre Day a little differently. We invite you to cook a meal MADE FROM SCRATCH together with your friends and family, at home, anytime between December 8-10th. And we’d love for you to share your stories, photos and recipes with us!
It’s easy to participate. Here’s how:
1. JOIN our event on Facebook and INVITE all your friends to join us. Or, if you aren’t on Facebook, you can join the event here.
2. Get together with your friends/family December 8-10th and COOK a meal from scratch.
3. While you’re cooking, TWEET photos and update us on your progress with hashtags: #TerraMadreDay and #MadeFromScratchTO
