Terra Madre Salone del Gusto was first held in 1996 and is one of the world’s most important events dedicated to artisan and small-scale food and wine producers, as well as a forum of exchange for producers and consumers from around the world. The last edition in 2018 attracted 7000 delegates from 150 countries and over 1000 food communities of the Terra Madre network from five continents, along with hundreds of thousands public visitors. The next Terra Madre will happen in 2020.

Slow Food in Canada encourages Canadians to attend the event, and have 50 delegate scholarships available from Slow Food International. The scholarships will cover accommodation, meals and ground transportation (NOT air travel). The scholarship applications are now closed but will open in January 2020.
