Welcome to our first newsletter since the Annual General Meeting recently held in Edmonton, Alberta. We are delighted to share with you news and updates from Slow Food Canada (SFC) today.
Meet the new executive team and learn a little about us. This team will work together with convivia across the country to provide support for the dedicated and valued time and effort that each of you is contributing in our joint efforts to ensure a healthy, Good, Clean and Fair food system and environment for Canada.
We are keen to continue the good work that our previous boards have achieved and are grateful for what has been established well before us by the leadership team under the care of Mara Jernigan, our previous SFC Chair, and the interim Chair Bobby Gregoire. We thank Mara and will remain grateful to her for all she has done for SFC and for the continued guidance she provides us. We wish her success in her work and her journey as she brings Slow Food to her new home in Belize.
Finally, it is with pride that we commit to you to build and evolve on our strong foundations by improving communications and membership experience; by inspiring and supporting active engagement and empowerment for all our convivia; and by providing and sharing available Slow Food resources, from all across our nation, and from Slow Food International.
We welcome the opportunity to hear from you and are excited in our anticipation to receive news from each of our convivia.
Share with us your stories, photos, questions, comments and your ideas. And don’t hesitate to contact us when you have questions about activities or interests in your region. We are happy to share information for the benefit of helping you improve the quality of your community life. We can arrange to connect you directly to other convivia too—between us we have many resources and skills that can be shared to help us reach our common goals.
We can’t wait to hear from you and wish you blessings that are Slow, for the better!
