BBQ picnic and visit to Taproot Organic Farm
Patricia Bishop and Josh Oulton are two of the most dynamic young farmers in Eastern Canada today. Taproot Farm is their 30 acre Certified Organic farm on Starr’s Point in Kings County, NS. They operate one of the largest CSA’s in Atlantic Canada (over 350 subscribers), work closely with chefs (like Michael Howell) and are active members of Slow Food. They have also created Swallows Nest, The first AGRITURISMO (farm stay vacation home) in Nova Scotia.
Come join us for a tour of the farm and Swallow’s Nest, a frank discussion of what life as a modern young farming family entails, and enjoy the produce of the Farm and Starrs Point Steers in a picnic prepared by Patricia and Chefs Michael Howell (Tempest) and Jason Lynch (Le Caveau). Should you be interested, Taproot still has 50 CSA shares available and these can be purchased at the time of your visit
