The SFC Build-a-Network Campaign (And yes! We will come up with a better name)
One of the breakout sessions at the National Meeting in Osoyoos brought a team of “network” enthusiasts together. Each of us had the same passion and desire: to figure out the most effective and easy ways we could enable all the Slow Food in Canada conviviums to share information.
Our mission was simple: how can we help everyone share information, support, engage, grow, and foster our amazing network?
First on the agenda:
Did you know that there’s a Slow Food in Canada Facebook Page? Oh yeah! It’s there and it’s hungry for your news. You can access the page here. “LIKE” the page first (if you haven’t already) and then keep everyone informed about activities in your communities, upcoming events, and news about what you are doing. This is a really easy way to start building our network!
Over the next few months we have committed to doing some other things that will make it easier for all of us to share information, ask questions, connect with each other.
Here’s a brief rundown of what we were thinking of putting together:
- We’re going to look at best practices—sourcing information from all our convivium leaders to learn what they are doing already (so keep us in mind because you’ll be hearing from us soon)
- We’re going to use this information and what we learn to build a simple guide that will go to everyone
- BUILD YOUR OWN NETWORK 101 will help you by teaching you things like
Why it’s a great idea to recruit a Communications Liason in each convivum
How to start a twitter account
How to get the most out of Facebook (and the EVENTS page)
How to share with other SF and fraternal food communities
And more!

La Campagne « Créer-un-réseau » de SFC (Oui! Nous allons trouver un meilleur nom.)
Lors d’une des séances de groupes qui a eu lieu pendant la Réunion nationale à Osoyoos, une équipe d’« amateurs de réseaux » s’est formée. Chacun d’entre nous avait la même passion et le même désir : de trouver les manières les plus efficaces et faciles qui permettront tous les conviviums de Slow Food au Canada de partager les informations.
Notre mission était simple : comment aider tout le monde à partager des informations et à appuyer, engager, appuyer, faire accroître et promouvoir notre incroyable réseau de Slow Food au Canada?
Premier point au programme:
Saviez-vous que Slow Food au Canada a une page Facebook? Bien oui! Elle existe et est avide de vos nouvelles. Vous pouvez accéder à la page ici. « AIMEZ » la page (si vous ne l’avez pas déjà fait) et ensuite tenez tout le monde au courant des activités qui se passent dans vos communautés, des évènements à venir et des nouvelles concernant vos projets. Ceci est un moyen très simple de commencer à accroître notre réseau!
Au cours des prochains mois, nous nous engageront à organiser d’autres méthodes qui faciliteront le partage d’informations et qui nous permettront de poser des questions et se connecter les uns aux autres avec aisance.
Voici un bref aperçu de ce que nous envisageons faire :
- Nous allons examiner les pratiques d’excellence – nous allons recueillir des renseignements de chaque chef de convivium pour apprendre à propros de ce qu’ils sont déjà en train de faire dans leurs régions. (Gardez ceci à l’esprit, car vous allez bientôt avoir des nouvelles de nous.)
- Nous allons utiliser ces informations et ce que nous apprenons à propos des projets des conviviums dans le but de créer un simple manuel qui sera distribué à tout le monde
- CRÉER VOTRE PROPRE RÉSEAU 101 – Le manuel vous aidera en vous apprenant des choses telles que :
Pourquoi c’est une excellente idée de recruter une personne au sein de chaque convivium qui sera chargée des communications et qui agira comme liaison
